The CDRSEE was honoured to be selected by the DG for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) to undertake a project to promote accession and EU integration.
The initiative involved a series of 2 roundtables in Greece, on issues of accession and EU integration, each with a different specific theme and prism, through which to address the overall issues.
The aim of the initiative was to explore the multi-faceted themes around the Western Balkan countries’ accession to the EU, with a different focus at each roundtable, involving input from EU experts and Greek and Southeast European actors in the field.
The first roundtable took place in Athens on June 15th, 2016 , at which the topic of media transparency and standards in the Western Balkans was discussed.
The second roundtable took place took place in Thessaloniki examining civil society in the Balkans and the role of social inclusion in contributing to a more secure, economically stable and democratic region.
