The 2017 Civil Society Forum, linked to the 4th intergovernmental Summit of Western Balkans and the EU, will host this year’s special edition of ‘Okruzenje’ (‘Vicinities’). On 12 July, in Trieste, Italy, the special episode of the groundbreaking regional talk show will feature the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Mr Zoran Zaev, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Mr Ivica Dacic, and the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Mr Goran Svilanovic.
Our Executive Director and host of the ‘Vicinities’ show, Mrs Zvezdana Kovac, will have the honour of moderating this roundtable of highly profiled guests from the Western Balkans and the EU. This year’s special episode will be centered around the linkage between the “Berlin Process” and its achievements in terms of politics, economics, infrastructure, and civil society cooperation, as well as the strategies and challenges that lie ahead in bilateral and multilateral cooperation on other key issues.
In keeping the ‘Vicinities’ tradition of being taping episodes in front of an audience, the live recording of the special episode in Trieste will be open to members of the civil society and journalists, including members of the Alumni network of the European Fund for the Balkans, a long-standing supporter of the show.
By bringing together prominent public and political figures from the Western Balkans and the EU who will engage in an insightful debate, offering the straightforward exchange of ideas on contemporary political issues affecting the Balkans, ‘Vicinities’ is once again expected to make an extraordinary TV-Show.
