21-23 September - 2012: Third meeting of the initiative "Dynamic teaching: knowledge and tools", Sarajevo

The international team of cognitive psychologists and education experts from the Western Balkans, Cyprus, Germany and the US continued its work on building capacities that would bring education more in line with the requirements of a rapidly changing society. The team is currently producing a manual for teachers with the aim of providing guidance for moving from teaching techniques to learning techniques.

The team is led by Professor Lorin Anderson who is well known for his revision of Bloom's Taxonomy. A special Guest at the meeting was Professor Hasim Basic from the University of Sarajevo.

The establishment of the regional knowledge pool on tools that can make education more effective has been inspired by the CDRSEE’s teachers’ network within the framework of the Joint History Project. The first draft of the manual was tested in a Focus Group with teachers in Sarajevo, and prompted to potential benefits and limitations for generating change in Southeast European classrooms. The committee will establish five more focus groups of teachers in Albania, Croatia, Kosovo UN1244, Montenegro and Serbia by the end of October.

The manual will be available in English by the end of 2012 and will then be translated into Albanian, Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Serbian in 2013.
