Montenegro is another country to have joined the Joint History Project and to offer its teachers and students a new manner of understanding history in the Montenegrin language. This high-profile launch was attended by the Montenegrin Prime Minister Igor Luksic, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro Leopold Maurer, Dr Erhard Busek, Chair of the Board of Directors, Montenegrin Minister of Education and Sports Slavoljub Stijepovic, Montenegrin Minister of Science Sanja Vlahovic, Marko Jokic, Chair of the Board of the State Textbook Publishing House - Podgorica (representative of our partner and co-publisher), and local language editors Dragutin Papovic and Zvezdan Folic.
Also present at this event were diplomatic corps representatives of international organizations in Montenegro, NGOs, teacher associations, historians and journalists. The successful launch of the JHP Language Edition in Montenegro is exemplary of the fruitful cooperation between the public sector and civil society that places the citizen right at the forefront of societal development. This event was largely heralded in the media.
